During the first half of the month, both crypto and quities experienced strong momentum, generating a large number of trade opportunities and quickly expanding our portfolio of active positions. Unrealised profits grew quickly as trends developed across both asset classes. However, many of those gains were later reduced when crypto markets started to continue their downward trend. This prompted us to adjust the system configuration to secure profits more aggressively and tighten stop-loss management as trades moved in our favour.
Despite the late-month weakness in crypto, the combination of these changes and continued strength in equities resulted in an increase in account value for May. The stock portfolio gained 20.7%, while the crypto portfolio declined 8.0%, resulting in a combined account gain of 11.0%.
